We’re currently working on a new peripheral program that will make it easy to dump your data in tab delimited or csv format.

There will also be an option to create an XML file that is suitable for loading into Excel versions that know about XML data.

We are in early Alpha on this new DISAM Tool.

Work is progressing. The iPhone finally came to Canada so naturally it found it's way into the mix. Using simple web applications you will be able to access DISAM7 from most mobile platforms. DISAM7 is being developed as a natural progression of DISAM in general.

Being a prime user of DISAM ourselves in our Tracker Point-of-Sale product we continually come up with new ideas and requirements, hence a natural progression to DISAM7.

We have decided to take a brief delay to release so that we can include a new feature. Included with DISAM7 will be a DISAM XML Server to facilitate reading, writing and updating DISAM7 via standard XML and TCP/IP. Easy access from any environment that can do Sockets.

List of new features include:

• change to variable length idx file format to allow for > 16777216 record limit when storing record numbers in 3 char bytes for varinfo and continuation node pointers.
• isconfig.h setting ISOLDVARLEN 1 or any non 0 ISCISAM setting will maintain old disam/c-isam variable length file format compatibility.
• ISCISAM 0 and ISOLDVARLEN 0 ensures new format. new format will requires that dvlrebld( conversion prog ) be run on existing variable length files.
• schema load and store library functions and sample programs
• record number limit changed from LONG_MAX to ULONG_MAX value
• client/server capabilities incorporated into standard DISAM.
